EcoSynergy are trying to make it possible for us to look up and understand the environmental impact of every day products.

After working on the Yahoo project, I became quite fascinated with the fourth element of our carbon emissions, namely our indirect emissions through the products we buy. Is it better to buy organic beef, or non-organic? Is lamb from New Zealand better than lamb raised locally? What companies are doing what to make their businesses more sustainable?

Compiling this information is not an easy task, but it's a worthy challenge. EcoSynergy is partnering with some leading universities to make this vision a reality, and I've been developing the beta version of their online service.
