With Emphasis Search, we built a search engine to navigate the complex world of physician referrals. Targetted at physicians who need to make a referral, or patients who need a second opinion, ApexMD goes far beyond the basic doctor lookup on insurance websites. Using our emphasis search technology, we combined a sophisticated medical taxonomy and cross referencing with detailed information on what physicians actually do.

The result is probably one of the smartest and quickest ways to find expert physicians. We rolled it out for use accross a dozen medical centers including UCSF, CPMC, & Mayo Clinic. The public version is available at ApexMD.com
