Kayaking & Spearfishing off Big Sur
The Big Sur Coast is possibly one of the most rugged and scenic coastlines in the world. But getting a kayak on the water there is not easy. But it is totally worth it!
The Big Sur Coast is possibly one of the most rugged and scenic coastlines in the world. Highway 1 which winds its way above steep cliffs provide some amazing views. But if you’re an ocean lover, well the best way to experience it is by water.
But it’s not easy. Not easy at all. There’s precious little beach access, and strong winds and north pacific swell conspire to make getting in the water tricky.
But it is possible.
With my friend Jeremy, we slugged the kayaks down the side of a mountain, and went to play along the beautiful Big Sur coast. We had it all to ourselves on one of the nicest weekends of the year.
Here are a few pics:

How to Climb Mt. Iraya
If you're fortunate enough to make it to Batan Island, you might find yourself gazing at Mt Iraya and wondering how to climb it. Sadly there are no maps, and conflicting directions on how to accomplish this. This post explains how to get to the top.
Very cool.
Its an adventure I’ve been trying to talk friends into for years.
Congrats & Three Cheers !
